FAQs
What is 'co-working' ?
Collaborating Working (‘Co-working’) is a global movement that is helping today's generation of entrepreneurs and creators to realise their vision through collaborative efforts and shared creative spaces.
Physical and technological resources are shared, including the invaluable ideas, expertise, and knowledge among the membership.
Do I need to sign a lease?
No need to get wrapped up in a long-term rental agreement. Part of the genius of co-working is that you won't have to sign a lease. We have affordable monthly rates, and you can cancel at any time with one months notice after your initial three months sign up..
Can I bring clients or guests to the office?
Of course! We know looking professional is of the utmost importance to you. Feel free to hold meetings in our bookable meeting room. We use a shared calendar so you can book well ahead of time. We do ask you limit your guests' visits to a meeting room and not a sheared space so others won't be disturbed.
What if I need to make a private call?
No problem! As a member you have access to the bookable meeting room for scheduled conference calls. The shared office space is open planned, so for sensitive conversations we suggest booking the meeting room or stepping out onto the deck. Have a chat with our other members working that day - we find with the music on low volume calls aren't disruptive.
Who uses a Co-working space?
While it may seem that co-working space is only for millennials, that isn't the truth. When you work in a co-working space, you'll work next to people of all ages and with all kinds of talents. You'll find entrepreneurs, artists, coders, writers, freelancers, developers, and nearly any type of employee you can think of. You may meet people from other countries or your neighbours down the road. Co-working spaces are for anyone who needs an extra desk, a meeting room or a place of work.
Can you work all hours?
You're a night owl huh? Some of us get our best work done at night or in the wee hours of the early morning. At Smart Hub we're ALWAYS ON - our office is open 24/7, because sometimes life hits us with inspiration at 2:00 am. With top security and individual access codes 24/7 access is a breeze.
Can I have a dedicated desk?
We have dedicated desks and hot desks! Hot desks are communal desks available for members to use as they please. If you see an unoccupied desk, you're welcome to use it. If you're interested in a dedicated desk please get in touch as this option is not listed on our basic memberships.
Do you offer fast and reliable internet?
We have a dual band Wi-Fi as well as wired connection ports available the maximum internet speed is 200/200 mbps, making our connection one of the fastest if not the fastest in town making Smart Hub the smart destination for remote workers.
What about network security?
We take network security seriously and run a stateful inspection firewall and contact/malware filtering to help make Smart Hub safer than most workplaces. There is even a separate network for visitors to use that is isolated from member computers and shared resources.
Whilst we do our best to protect all of our users, ultimately we do not control the computers that may be connected to the network (as it is a shared space) so we strongly recommend you run your own personal firewall and anti-virus software too, and don't forget to keep your data back ups current.
What should I bring?
Our members come from a variety of industries sectors and professions. We provide the collaborative space in office technology to help you enhance your productivity. Members should bring the necessary items you'll be need to be productive in your work and within reason.
We offer you free tea, coffee and kitchen facilities, high speed internet, break areas with couches and tables, a professional business address and more… did we mention FREE PARKING?
